I don’t plan several steps ahead. Because I’d fully expect such a plan to go wrong on the first step even. Plans suck. Improvisation is where it’s at.
Analyzing? Yes. That’s usually after the fact though. Speculation? Yes. Predictions? Yes. But don’t rely on them too much. Unexpected things are bound to happen. A good decision is one I can live with no matter the outcome.
I saw a lot of complex plans come to fruition recently. By the same people who failed miserably hundreds of times in the past. And still fail on a regular basis with most of their plans. So I guess practice does make perfect pay off to a certain degree. There are enough other (more worthwhile) things to practice though.
And if you need so many to affect so few, is it even practicable for an individual? No. Improvisation is where it’s at.
